This DuoSet ELISA Development kit contains the basic components required for the development of sandwich ELISAs to measure natural and recombinant human APRIL / TNFSF13. The suggested diluent is suitable for the analysis of most cell culture supernate samples. Diluents for complex matrices, such as serum and plasma, should be evaluated prior to use in this DuoSet ELISA.

Background: APRIL/TNFSF13

A proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL), also known as TALL-2 and TRDL-1, is a type II transmembrane protein that is a member of the TNF ligand superfamily (TNFSF13). APRIL expression is low in normal tissues, but is elevated in several types of tumors and transformed cell lines. APRIL stimulates proliferation of tumor cell lines and increases tumorigenicity in nude mice.

Long Name:
A Proliferation-inducing Ligand
Entrez Gene IDs:
8741 (Human); 69583 (Mouse); 287437 (Rat)
Alternate Names:
A proliferation-inducing ligand; APRIL; APRILFLJ57090; CD256 antigen; CD256; TALL2; TALL-2; TNF- and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 2; TNF-related death ligand 1; TNFSF13; TRDL1; TRDL-1; tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 13; tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 13; tumor necrosis factor-like protein ZTNF2; tumor necrosis factor-related death ligand-1; ZTNF2
