Human Activin C ELISA Standard Curve. Recombinant Human Activin C protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Human Activin C beta C subunit Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1629) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Goat Anti-Human Activin C beta C subunit Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF1629) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Background: Activin C

Activins belong to the TGF-beta superfamily. They are homo- or heterodimers of Activin beta subunits. At least four mammalian beta subunits, A, B, C, and E, have been described. The beta _c subunit homodimerizes to form Activin CC. A naturally occuring Activin AC heterodimer has also been reported (1).
