Favipiravir
Chemical Name: 6-Fluoro-3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-2-pyrazinecarboxamide
Purity: ≥98%
Biological Activity
Favipiravir is a viral RNA polymerase inhibitor; exhibits no effects on mammalian RNA polymerase. Prodrug that is phosphoribosylated by cellular enzymes to its active form, Favipiravir-ribofuranosyl-5'-triphosphate (RTP). Reduces infection rate of SARS-CoV-2 in Vero E6 cells in vitro (IC50 = 61.88 μM). Inhibits influenza virus RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRP) activity (IC50 = 341 nM). Induces lethal mutagenesis in MDCK cells inoculated with seasonal influenza A (H1N1) viruses. Protects mice against Ebola virus.Technical Data
