Scientific Data
Detection of Human/Mouse/Rat Axin‑1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, Balb/3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line, and PC-12 rat adrenal pheochromocytoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Human/Mouse/Rat Axin-1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3287) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Axin-1 at approximately 120 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Axin-1
Axin-1 is a negative regulator of the Wnt signaling pathway, which is involved in regulation of embryonic axis formation in vertebrates. Axin-1 binds to beta -catenin and glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) to promote beta -catenin phosphorylation and subsequent degradation. Axin-1 also binds to the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene, a known tumor suppressor that also regulates beta -catenin.
