Scientific Data
Detection of Human, Mouse, and Rat CBP by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, Balb/3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line, and NRK rat normal kidney cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat CBP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2676) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for CBP at approximately 265 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
CBP in HeLa Human Cell Line. CBP was detected in immersion fixed HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line using Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat CBP Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2676) at 8 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cell nuclei. Staining was performed using our protocol for Fluorescent ICC Staining of Non-adherent Cells.

Background: CBP
The CBP (CREB-binding protein) is a histone acetyltransferase and transcriptional coactivator that regulates RNA polymerase II transcription. In addition to histone acetylation, CBP also acetylates various transcription factors, including the tumor suppressor protein p53, to enhance sequence-specific DNA binding.
