Scientific Data
Detection of Human PI 3-Kinase p110 gamma by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line and Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human PI 3-Kinase p110 gamma Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2999) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for PI 3-Kinase p110 gamma at approximately 110 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: PI 3-Kinase p110 gamma
Class I phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI 3-Kinases) are dual-specific lipid and protein kinases involved in numerous intracellular signaling pathways. Class IA PI 3‑Kinases (p110 alpha, beta and δ) are typically activated through receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, whereas p110 gamma, the single member of class IB, is activated by seven‑transmembrane G‑protein‑coupled receptors (GPCRs). While p110 alpha and beta are ubiquitiously expressed, expression of p110 gamma is mainly restricted to cells of the hematopoietic system.
