Scientific Data
Detection of Relaxin R2 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human Relaxin R2 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with (A) human Relaxin R2 or (B) irrelevant transfectants and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human Relaxin R2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB102501) followed by APC-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0101B). Quadrant markers were set based on control antibody staining (Catalog # MAB002). View our protocol for Staining Membrane-associated Proteins.

Background: Relaxin R2
Relaxin R2 (also known as LGR8) is the G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) for Relaxin, and may also be a receptor for INSL3. LGR8 can mediate the action of Relaxin through cAMP-dependent pathway distinct from structurally related insulin and insulin-like growth factor family ligand. Distribution of this receptor implicates its role in reproductive, brain, renal, cardiovascular and other functions.
