Background: OSCAR

OSCAR is a type I transmembrane protein that may be a bone-specific regulator of osteoclast differentiation. It contains two extracellular Ig-like domains that share homology with mouse PIR (Paired immunoglobulin-like receptor) family proteins and members of the human Leukocyte Receptor Complex (LRC)-encoded proteins.
