Scientific Data
Tenascin R in Rat Brain. Tenascin R was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat brain using Mouse Anti-Mouse/Rat Tenascin R Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1624) at 1 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Mouse HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; CTS002) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Detection of Mouse/Rat Tenascin R by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Mouse Brain and Rat Brain. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Mouse/Rat Tenascin R Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1624) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for Tenascin R at approximately 185-250 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Western Blot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Tenascin R
Tenascin R is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein belonging to the Tenascin family of multidomain adhesion molecules. It is expressed exclusively in the central nervous system and affects neuronal cell migration and neurite extension. Mouse and rat Tenascin R share 97% amino acid sequence homology.
