Western Blot Detection of Mouse Reg3B antibody by Western Blot. View Larger

Detection of Mouse Reg3B by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse small intestine tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Mouse Reg3B Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB5110) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for Reg3B at approximately 17 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Reg3B

Reg3B (regenerating islet-derived protein III beta; also PAP-I and HIP) is a secreted, 17 kDa member of the Reg gene family, C-type lectin gene superfamily.  It is found in pancreatic acinar cells, intestinal enterocytes and developing spinal motoneurons.  Reg3B may play a role in intestinal epithelial cell renewal. It contains one C-type lectin domain.  Mature mouse Reg3B is 91% and 67% aa identical to rat and human Reg3B, respectively.

Long Name
Regenerating Islet-derived IIIb
Entrez Gene IDs
18489 (Mouse); 24618 (Rat)
Alternate Names
PAP1; Reg3B
