R&D Systems Fluorokine E Activity Assays offer a consistent method for quantifying pro and active MMPs side-by-side on the same plate. Monoclonal antibodies capture both pro and mature MMPs, and a fluorogenic peptide substrate detects the levels of endogenous active MMP. MMPs can be activated in the sample using the provided APMA and the levels of the pro form deduced.
A range of plate-based assays are available to measure Caspase activity. These kits are Caspase-specific and utilize a peptide coupled to a colorimetric or fluorometric reporter system to assess activity in cell lysates.
In response to proteolytic cleavage, Fluorogenic Peptide Substrates emit a signal that can be measured using a fluorescence plate reader. Many substrates are available including those suitable for assessing the activity of Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs), Cathepsins, Kallikreins, Coagulation Factors, and more.
Cell permeable fluoromethyl ketone (FMK)-derivatized peptides act as effective irreversible Caspase inhibitors with no cytotoxic effects and, therefore, are useful tools for studying Caspase activity. Caspase-specific and Pan-specific inhibitors are available as well as sampler packs. AEBSF, a cell permeable general serine protease inhibitor, is also available.
