This DuoSet IC ELISA contains the basic components required for the development of sandwich ELISAs to measure phosphorylated human TOR (S2448) in cell lysates. An immobilized capture antibody specific for TOR binds both phosphorylated and unphosphorylated TOR. After washing away unbound material, a biotinylated detection antibody is used to detect only phosphorylated receptor, utilizing a standard HRP format.

Background: TOR

The mammalian Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) is a member of the PI 3-kinase-related kinase (PIKK) family. mTOR is the protein target of rapamycin, an anti-rejection drug used in transplantation and is a promising anti-cancer agent. mTOR plays a crucial role in the control of cell growth and proliferation as a downstream target of the PI 3-kinase/Akt signal transduction pathway.
