Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) (IC₅₀ values are 53 and >100 μM for COX-2 and COX-1 respectively). Displays anti-inflammatory effects in both adjuvant arthritic and normal rats.
