Cultrex Basement Membrane Extract (BME) Used in Novel 3-D Tumor Growth Assay!

Scientists from Crown Bioscience presented some of their latest data at the 2018 American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) in Chicago this month. The authors used Cultrex^® Basement Membrane Extract in the development of a novel 3-D tumor growth assay (3D-TGA) that incorporates bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (bmMSCs) with tumor cells. Their data indicate that the addition of bmMSCs to the 3D-TGA was associated with comparable chemotherapy efficacy with Patient Derived Xenograph (PDX) model systems, while the omission of bmMSCs was not.
