Detection of CD34 in Human PBMCs by Flow Cytometry. Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were stained with (A) Mouse Anti-Human CD34 Biotinylated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # FAB7227B) or (B) Biotinylated Mouse IgG1 isotype control antibody (IC002B) followed by PE-conjugated Streptavidin (F0040) and Mouse Anti-Human CD45 APC-conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (FAB1430A). Background: CD34
CD34 is a sialomucin molecule that is expressed on primitive hematopoietic stem cells and downregulated as they differentiate into mature cells. Although its precise function remains unknown, the pattern of expression of CD34 suggests that it plays a significant role in early hematopoiesis.
