Scientific Data
EMILIN2 in THP‑1 Human Cell Line. EMILIN2 was detected in immersion fixed THP‑1 human acute monocytic leukemia cell line (left panel; positive staining) and Daudi human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line (right panel; negative staining) using Mouse Anti-Human EMILIN2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB10590) at 8 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature. Cells were stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (red; NL007) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm. Staining was performed our protocol for Fluorescent ICC Staining of Non-adherent Cells.

Background: EMILIN2
EMILIN (Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein) is an elastic fiber-associated glycoprotein. EMILIN2 is a protein that may be responsible for anchoring smooth muscles to elastin fibers. It also may be involved in the process that regulates vessel assembly. MRNA expression of EMILIN2 is more restricted compared to EMILIN1 with highest levels being present in fetal heart and adult lung. EMILIN2 is secreted extracellularly by in vitro-grown cells.
