Background: Siglec-3/CD33

Gemtuzumab is a biosimilar directed against the extracellular domain of CD33. This product constitutes the immunogen used for the anti-Idiotype catalog numbers MAB9617 and MAB96171. The biotinylated antibody (catalog number FAB9635B) can be used in flow cytometry or various assay format to measure Siglec‑3/CD33 expression and can be detected by conjugated streptavidin.

    • The Biosimilar antibody has the same variable region and constant region sequence as the therapeutic antibody, except for Catalog numbers MAB9677, MAB9575, MAB9577, MAB9589, and their conjugates. These four antibodies have the same variable region as the Biosimilar, but not the same constant region.

  2. What is a Biosimilar antibody?

    • A Biosimilar antibody is a non-therpeutic, recombinantly-expressed antibody which has the same sequence as the corresponding therapeutic antibody.  It is for research use only.
