Scientific Data
Detection of Mouse FGF R4 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse heart tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.25 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Mouse FGF R4 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2265) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). A specific band was detected for FGF R4 at approximately 89 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
FGF R4 in Mouse Embryo. FGF R4 was detected in immersion fixed frozen sections of mouse embryo (11.5 d.p.c.) using Goat Anti-Mouse FGF R4 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2265) at 5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Goat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS008) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to cartilage. Background: FGFR4
FGF R4 is a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase that binds several ligands of the FGF family. It is expressed in the early embryo, and its expression has been suggested to play an important role in the formation of mesoderm and posterior structure (1). Recent studies also indicated that FGF R4 may be used as a marker to distinguish neural stem cells from other precursor cells (2). The extracellular domain of mouse FGF R4 shares 95% and 89% amino acid sequence homology with its rat and human homologs, respectively.
