BRS3: Products

BRS3 is a G protein-coupled membrane receptor that binds bombesin-like peptides. This binding results in activation of a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, with physiological effects including regulation of metabolic rate, glucose metabolism, and hypertension. BRS3 is expressed in germ cells in testis and in lung carcinoma cells. BRS3 interacts with C6orf89 and plays a role in sperm cell division, maturation, and function.
