Scientific Data
Detection of Human and Mouse Cadherin‑17 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of human colon tissue and mouse colon tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human Cadherin-17 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF1032) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Cadherin-17 at approximately 125 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
Cadherin‑17 in Human Colon. Cadherin-17 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human colon array using Goat Anti-Human Cadherin-17 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF1032) at 15 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Goat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS008) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Lower panel shows a lack of labeling if primary antibodies are omitted and tissue is stained only with secondary antibody followed by incubation with detection reagents. Detection of Human and Mouse Cadherin‑17 by Simple WesternTM. Simple Western lane view shows lysates of human colon tissue and mouse colon tissue, loaded at 0.2 mg/mL. A specific band was detected for Cadherin‑17 at approximately 155 kDa (as indicated) using 5 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human Cadherin‑17 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF1032). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using the 12-230 kDa separation system.

Background: Cadherin-17
Cadherin-17, also known as liver-intestine (LI) Cadherin, belongs to the cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules. It associates homotypically and is selectively expressed on gastric and intestinal mucosa.
