Chromogranin A in Human Parathyroid. Chromogranin A was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human parathyroid using Mouse Anti-Human Chromogranin A Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9098) at 1.7 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Mouse HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS002) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm in chief cells. View our protocol for Chromogenic IHC Staining of Paraffin-embedded Tissue Sections.

Background: Chromogranin A

Human Chromogranin A (CHGA) an acidic protein and a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is located in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells such as islet beta cell secretory granules in pancreas. Chromogranin A expression has been oberserved in neuroendocrine tumors, medullary thyroid carcinoma, as well as carcinoid tumors.
