Detection of DSCAM‑L1 in A172 Human Cell Line by Flow Cytometry. A172 human glioblastoma cell line was stained with Goat Anti-Human DSCAM-L1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3315, filled histogram) or control antibody (Catalog # AB-108-C, open histogram), followed by Phycoerythrin-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0107).

Background: DSCAM-L1
DSCAM-L1 is a 250 kDa type I transmembrane Ig superfamily glycoprotein that is predominantly expressed in Purkinje cells and neurons of the cerebral cortex and olfactory bulb.DSCAM-L1 mediates cell adhesion by cation-independent homophilic interactions. It may function in the formation and maintenance of neural networks and play a role in neural disorders such as Gilles de la Tourette and Jacobsen syndromes. Human DSCAM-L1 contains ten Ig-like C2-type domains and six fibronectin type-III domains. An alternately spliced isoform is generated by deletion of 211 amino acids near the N-terminal. Within the extracellular domain, human DSCAM-L1 shares 98% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat DSCAM-L1.
