Background: Heparan Sulfate 6-O-Sulfotransferase 2/HS6ST2

HS6ST2 is a key enzyme in heparan sulfate biosynthesis. It exists in two alternatively spliced forms, a long form and a short form with a 40 aa deletion. The long form is expressed in adult and fetal brain tissues, whereas the short form is expressed preferentially in ovary, placenta, and fetal kidney.
