Background: BMPR-IB/ALK-6

BMPR-IB, also known as ALK-6, is a type I serine/threonine kinase receptor that associates with a type II TGF-beta receptor superfamily member to form a heteromeric signaling receptor complex. BMPR-IB is expressed during embryogenesis and in adult brain, bone, and hematopoietic stem cells.
