Scientific Data
Detection of Human, Mouse, and Rat Syntaxin 1B by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line, CCD-1070Sk human foreskin fibroblast cell line, Neuro-2A mouse neuroblastoma cell line, and NRK rat normal kidney cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human/Mouse/Rat Syntaxin 1B Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6848) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for Syntaxin 1B at approximately 33 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Syntaxin 1B
Syntaxin 1B/STX1B is an approximately 33 kDa member of the Syntaxin family. It is a single-pass type IV transmembrane protein that is potentially involved in the docking of synaptic vesicles at presynaptic active zones. The cytoplasmic domain of Syntaxin 1B contains a coiled-coil Syntaxin domain (aa 29-180) which is implicated in the docking of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic plasma membrane and a t-SNARE coiled coil domain (aa 191-253). Within the cytoplasmic domain, human Syntaxin 1B shares 100% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Syntaxin 1B.
