Scientific Data

Detection of Human RND3 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line, MCF-7 human breast cancer cell line, and Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line. PVDF Membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human RND3 (RD1 Peptide) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6618) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for RND3 at approximately 29 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: RND3
RND3, also known as RhoE, is an approximately 27 kDa member of the Rho family, small GTPase superfamily of molecules. It is 244 amino acids (aa) in length, and the mature chain extends from aa 1-241. RND3 is ubiquitously expressed and is involved in keratinocyte differentiation and stratification. RND3 overexpression results in cell size enlargement and an increase in the number of stratified cells. RND3 depletion results in hyperproliferation and delays initiation of keratinocyte differentiation. Human RND3 shares 100% aa sequence identity with mouse RND3.
