Scientific Data
Olig 1, 2, 3 in Mouse Embryo. Olig 1, 2, 3 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded 13 d.p.c. sections of Mouse Embryo using Mouse Anti-Human Olig 1, 2, 3 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2230) at 15 µg/mL for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the Anti-Mouse IgG VisUCyte™ HRP Polymer Antibody (Catalog # VC001). Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using VisUCyte Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # VCTS021). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to nuclei in neurons in developing brain. Background: Olig 1, 2, 3
Olig1 and Olig2, which have been implicated in oligodendrogenesis, are expressed in the region of the ventral ventricular zone of late embryonic spinal cord where oligodendrocyte progenitors appear. Olig3 is transiently expressed in different types of progenitors of embryonic central nervous system and then disappears in the course of development. In adult, expression of Olig3 is primarily detected in neural tissues.
