Detection of Human PSG6 by Western Blot. Western blot shows human serum from a pregnant donor (+) compared to a non-pregnant donor (-). PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human PSG6 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8598) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for PSG6 at approximately 75 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

PSG6 in Human Placenta. PSG6 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human placenta using Mouse Anti-Human PSG6 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB8598) at 5 µg/mL for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the Anti-Mouse IgG VisUCyte™ HRP Polymer Antibody (Catalog # VC001). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to syncytiotrophoblasts. Background: PSG6

Pregnancy-specific beta-1-glycoprotein 6 is encoded by the PSG6 gene. High levels of PSG biosynthesis are restricted to the placenta syncytiotrophoblast and are essential for the maintenance of normal gestation in mammalian species.
