Detection of CEACAM-2 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Mouse CEACAM-2 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) mouse CEACAM-2 or (B) irrelevant transfectants and eGFP was stained with Rat Anti-Mouse CEACAM-2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9214) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0113). Background: CEACAM-2
CEACAM2 is a member of the family of carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecules. CEACAM2 controls energy balance and peripheral insulin action. It is involved in the regulation of feeding behavior particularly in the ventromedial nucleus of hypothalamus (VMH) regulation of food intake. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described.
