Scientific Data
Detection of Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows recombinant tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB101061) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus at approximately 50 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 ELISA Standard Curve. Recombinant Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 protein was serially diluted 2-fold and captured by Mouse Anti-Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB101061) coated on a Clear Polystyrene Microplate (Catalog # DY990). Mouse Anti-Viral Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB10106) was biotinylated and incubated with the protein captured on the plate. Detection of the standard curve was achieved by incubating Streptavidin-HRP (Catalog # DY998) followed by Substrate Solution (Catalog # DY999) and stopping the enzymatic reaction with Stop Solution (Catalog # DY994).

Background: Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus NS1
Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV), a member of the genus Flavivirus, is the virus associated with tick-borne encephalitis. Three TBEV sub-types have been described: European or Western tick-borne encephalitis virus, Siberian tick-borne encephalitis virus, and Far eastern Tick-borne encephalitis virus (formerly known as Russian Spring Summer encephalitis virus, RSSEV). TEBV NS1 protein is one of the most conserved. Homology level of the NS1 protein is about 90% between TBEV strains. Tick-borne encephalitis virus causes 13,000 cases of human meningitis and encephalitis annually.
