Targeted Protein Degradation

Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) is a method that uses small molecule "Degraders", such as PROTAC® Degraders, SNIPERS and molecular glues, to achieve knockdown of target proteins within cells. Degraders form a ternary complex with both the protein of interest and an E3 ligase. This induced proximity initiates ubiquitination of the target protein and signals for its degradation by the proteasome.

This brochure provides an overview of the tools and services for TPD and induced proximity from Bio-Techne, and includes a summary of the Targeted Protein Degradation workflow including:

  • Tools for target validation and exploration (protein Degraders and the TAG Degradation platform)
  • Products and services for Degrader design and synthesis (including Degrader building blocks, the PROTAC® panel builder tool, and custom services)
  • Assays for assessing target engagement, ubiquitination of target protein, protein degradation and analysis of downstream effects, such as TR-FRET/FP and Simple Western™ automated Western instruments
  • Ubiquitin proteasome system proteins, reagents, validated antibodies
