MAPK/ERK kinase kinase 3 (MEKK3) is a widely expressed Ser/Thr kinase in the SEK, MEK, and MyD88-IRAK-TRAF6 signal transduction pathways. MEKK3 is involved in tissue morphogenesis, inflammation, and the response to cellular stress. Its activation leads to the activation of NF kappa B following stimulation of IL-1 R, TLR4, TLR8, TNF RI, and the AT1 angiotensin receptor.
