Background: SLITRK2
SLITRK2 is a type I membrane protein belonging to the SLITRK family of neuronal proteins that modulate neurite outgrowth. The 600 amino acid residue extracellular domain of SLITRK2 has two conserved leucine-rich repeat domains with homology to SLIT. The 200 aa cytoplasmic domain also shares similarity to TRK neurotrophin receptor proteins. The extracellular domain of human SLITRK shares 98% amino acid sequence identity with the extracellular domains of rat, mouse and canine SLITRK2.
