Purity: ≥95%
Biological Activity
5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine is a thymidine analog for labeling DNA. Can be linked to an azide fluorophore, such as 3-Azido-7-hydroxycoumarin (Cat. No. 7664) through click chemistry and used to detect DNA synthesis in proliferating cells in vivo and in vitro. Detects very low levels of cell proliferation in tissues with low cellular turnover. 5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine suppresses cell proliferation in osteosarcoma and glioblastoma cell lines, induces a 'futile' DNA repair cycle and induces DNA strand breaks and apoptosis at a higher rate than Temozolomide (Cat. No. 2706).Technical Data
