Scientific Data
Detection of Human and Mouse TBX18 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, HUVEC human umbilical vein endothelial cells, Jurkat human acute T cell leukemia cell line, and NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line. PVDF Membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human TBX18 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB6337) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF007). A specific band was detected for TBX18 at approximately 65 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: TBX18
TBX18 is a 607 amino acid, 65 kDa (predicted) protein that is a member of the T-box family of developmentally expressed transcription factors. It is developmentally expressed in the anterior portion of the head, somites and limb buds. It is expressed on pluripotent progenitors in the developing epicardium where it is required for formation of the cardiac AV node, and can also contribute to fibroblast and smooth muscle formation. Within the region used as an immunogen, human TBX18 shares 93% amino acid identity with mouse and rat TBX18.
