Scientific Data
Detection of Urotensin-II R in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Mouse Urotensin-II and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) mouse Urotensin-II R or (B) irrelevant transfectants and eGFP was stained with Rat Anti-Mouse Urotensin-II R Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9245) followed by Allophycocyanin-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0113). Quadrant markers were set based on control antibody staining (Catalog # MAB0061). View our protocol for Staining Membrane-associated Proteins.

Background: Urotensin-II R
Urotensin-II R (UR2R) belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family. UR2R is a high affinity receptor for urotensin-2 and urotensin-2B. The activity of UR2R is mediated by a G protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. It is most abundantly expressed in the heart and pancreas. Human UR2R has been correlated with cortico-adrenal carcinoma proliferation.
