Background: YM1/Chitinase 3-like 3
ECF-L, also known as YM1, is a secreted 377 amino acid residue lectin that binds heparin and G1cN oligomers. It is produced primarily by macrophages during inflammation. ECF-L shares homology with chitinase family proteins but lacks enzymatic activity.
