Primary Cell Culture: Products

Primary cell culture involves removing cells directly from a multicellular organism or tissue and placing them into ex vivo cell culture. In contrast to the culture of immortalized cell lines, primary cell cultures provide more biological relevance to the system they are taken from but require more optimization with a limited lifespan for proliferation. Many cell culture conditions must be considered to ensure primary cell culture viability, including the pH, growth factors involved, nutrients and specific growth medium required.
