Detection of Human RSK4 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line and Ramos human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL Rat Anti-Human RSK4 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3916) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band for RSK4 was detected at approximately 90 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: RSK4

The 90 kDa ribosomal protein S6 kinases (RSK1-4) are a family of broadly expressed Ser/Thr kinases frequently activated in response to mitogenic stimuli, including growth factors and tumor-promoting phorbol esters. RSK4, also known as RPS6KA6, is commonly deleted in patients with complex X-linked mental retardation. Unlike other RSKs, RSK4 is constitutively active in serum-starved cells, and may participate in non-growth factor signaling.
